We can all get stuck in a routine or become stagnant in life. But the trick is to keep improving and growing. This is often easy to say and much more difficult to do in practise as each of us may have different constraints (time, finances or motivation) but when you are willing to improve or change your life…You can do it. It will take some time, effort, belief and a can do attitude…. But you can do it.

Here are some tips that can help live a more positive lifestyle:
– Meditation – Spend 5 minutes of meditation in the mornings. You can sit on the floor and close your eyes. Try to slow any thoughts you have, but this can be difficult so you can choose a mantra you wish to chant. This helps the mind to focus and stops it wondering. A Sikh may chant the mantra “Vaheguru” (Vaa hai goo roo) but you can choose your mantra. Don’t forget to breathe naturally with the melody of the chanting. Try 5 minutes each day and then add a minute each day, after your first week.
– Positive words – Tell yourself 2 positive things about yourself in the mornings. Positive affirmation can change our thoughts over time, which can lead to us seeing ourselves differently. Our mind can be our biggest enemy if we do not know how to use it, so when we begin to change our thoughts our outlook of ourselves and the world can change.
– Exercise – Do some physical exercise or movement. It is important to take part in some physical movement as it releases endorphins which can make us feel good naturally. For some, this can be getting out of the house for a 10 minute walk or for others this can mean an intensive workout at the gym. This is something I have neglected myself due to my lifestyle and work but I have realised the importance of exercise and think it should be made a priority as it affects us now and later in life.
– Eat right – Eat natural foods and cut out processed foods. Eating is a very important part of our daily lives as we eat a few times a day every day. Each of us are in different situations (some limited by time and some limited by finances). However, we should all try to make the time to eat well, from eating more fruits and vegetables, to cutting out high sugar foods and processed foods. I mention this because without the right food we can begin to lack the energy, strength and motivation, which impacts on all other parts of our lives. I have experienced this myself as my choice of foods was often processed and full of sugar due to not using my time correctly.
– Positive energy – Surround yourself with positive people. This can include volunteering in a charity, that helps other people. Not only do you surround yourself with people who have a caring nature, but you will also help others and learn the value of selflessness. A great way to help others and make new friends at the same time.
All of the above are some tips on how to live a more fuller life, as it involves improving ourselves and interacting with others.
