Sikhs believe we all come from the same creator (Vaheguru). This belief instills us with the value of equality amongst all humans and teaches us the importance of seeing no difference between anyone (regardless of gender, race, colour, belief/non-belief, sexual orientation etc.).

A Sikh is often taught their duty is to serve humanity and help others in need as we are all in a daily struggle of Maya (desires that control us and create ego). I just wanted to share a few words that could help us remember our role as a Sikh:
– Connect – To connect to the one creator by mediation and by seeing Vaheguru in all.
– Accept – To accept that we do not control everything and everything is Vaheguru’s hukam.
– Respect – To respect Vaheguru, nature and humans.
– Protect – To be armed at all times with Shastar (Weapons) and ready to protect others.
Tell me what other qualities you feel are important for a Sikh below. Are you practicing these qualities?
